Radio station WSOE featured a wide variety of programs for Milwaukee Area listeners until 1928 when it was acquired by the Wisconsin News Network and changed to WISN. School of Engineering amateur radio station, W9SO, has been credited with receiving the first distress call from Puerto Rico after a devastating hurricane. [Note: Cathedral Square Park used to be Courthouse Square, and Oneida Street has since been changed to Wells Street.]
