Photograph of the Christopher Columbus leaving the Milwaukee harbor for Chicago. The unique shape of these vessels lead them to be called 'whalebacks.' The Christopher Columbus was the only passenger whaleback, and for a time, she was the longest vessel on Lake Michigan.
