Hannah Werwath was the second youngest child of MSOE founder, Oscar Werwath and wife Johanna [Seelhorst] Werwath. She married George Swart, who was the head of the Welding Institute at MSOE from 1933 until 1951. The couple lived in Fort Atkinson, WI, but Hannah would commute to Milwaukee one day a week to act as a consultant to the Alumni Affairs Department and the School Historian. She was very active with Fort Atkinson’s Hoard Historical Museum, and was on the development committee for Old World Wisconsin.
