This photograph was taken upon Johanna Seelhorst's graduation from the Osnabruck Teachers Seminar in Germany. She was a teacher in Algeria for two years and served as a governess for a family which travelled Europe extensively. Johanna married Oscar Werwath in 1908 on her first day in America.
